This is my first attempt at brewing and initially I was slightly disapointed with the end result. The kit instructions specify 2 weeks of secondary fermentation but after two weeks the beer was still very cloudy. I ended up leaving it for four weeks and cracked it last weekend. The extra wait proved worthwhile and this beer just couldn't be better. I'm ordering the next kit now!

Having brewed several Woodfordes beers before I thought I'd try something a little different this time and added an extra 250g of brown sugar to the initial wort mixture. The beer turned out lovely, very drinkable. I had a party I was brewing for by which time it had been in the barrel for two weeks and although still slightly cloudy, the beer was enjoyed by all. I let what was left stand for a further two weeks and the result was worth it - a perfectly clear beer which tastes fantastic. So my advice is: Although it can be drunk after two weeks of secondary fermentation, leave it a bit longer if you can.

After just a month it had a modest head which did not disappear altogether, slight clinging to the glass. Decent condition, colour less than 20 EBC and slightly hazy. The taste is smooth and gentle with some butterscotch, barley sugar and marmalade. Yeast quite stable for a Woodeforde’s beer. After 2 months it had a massive tight-bubbled head like the old (proper) Guinness. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – ONE OF THE BEST BEERS I’VE EVER MADE.

this beer took a while to reach the right SG, i then stuck it in bottles with a frightening of brewing sugar to prime the bottles. I was amazed, as a beginer, at the results, it was all gone before it even cleared! My mates loved it. Will be a great alternative to cider in the summer

Very nice beer. It seems somewhat hoppier than Wherry which was the last brew I made.I am impressed with this company after trying two of their beers - look forward to trying out their others
