I don't remember this happening with other brews. However, after another 3 weeks it's excellent - clear, light tawny colour, lovely hoppy aroma and taste and excellent head (King Keg primed with just under 3 oz sugar). Smooth drinking - a very quaffable pint.

Woodfordes Wherry is without doubt one of the best homebrew ale kits I've tried... No sugar needed, as the malt from the two cans supplied contains all you need - just add water and yeast and Bobs your mom's brother!
A recomendation from the forum sugested leaving for 10 days in the fermenter, instead of Woodfordes recommended 6 days... It turned out to be a good advice. I don't have a pressure barrel, so I used the bottles of some cheap 2 litre value lemonade (@20p each) from the supermarket, added 2 tsp of suger per bottle, left for 3 weeks in a cool place.
Finished result had a great taste and full head - the only trouble was, that my friends liked it as much as me, so the 40pts disappeared in 2weeks!!
It would have been nice to have known how much improvement leaving in the bottle for a longer period would have made - Oh well, just means I'll have to buy another kit (and this time I'll keep it a secret from my friends).

One of the best beers I have ever had. This was only the second brew I have done , and boy was I pleased with my self.

After only 1 month it had a good initial head which did not completely disappear, good condition, colour around 20-30 EBC with slight chill haze from fridge (had this before with Woodforde’s). Very flowery/malty/perfumey with some bitterness in the finish, pear drops & raisins, its quality reminded me very strongly of some of the “classic” bottled beers.
After another month the head lasted to end, excellent condition, clung well to the side of the glass, very smooth.

A lovely dark oak coloured beer this one, nice and hoppy with a complex flavour. Certainly one that I will brew again, a nice winter ale.
